When did you last have some fun?

What this may consist of will be different for all of us.

I’m talking about something that really makes you feel good.

A bungy jump? A night out with friends? Going to the opera?

What is it that's great fun for you?

When you’re laughing so hard that you can’t draw breath, or when the pure emotion of something send tingles all over your body.

Having fun is not only important for our psychological well-being but physically too.

The things that are released into our system when we are happy and having fun do all sorts of good things.

One easy demonstration of this is when we have just been on a first date with someone amazing!

You may have been dog tired that afternoon having done lots of long shifts at work, or just not sleeping well.

As if by magic, meeting this person restores your energy and has you skipping along the road the next morning as if you’ve just had a relaxing week at a spa.

This is a clear demonstration of how our minds affect our bodies.

This can be the same whether it was a romantic first date or an evening with a good friend that you haven’t seen for years.

Another benefit to having fun:

I’m sure that when we are happy we are more inclined to do exercise.

Is this because we have more energy when we’re happy or because we take more notice of ourselves and our appearance?

Doing more exercise again releases lots of feel good things into our system which creates a lovely repeating feel-good circle!

This would indicate to me that having fun is a vital part of life and not a ‘treat’ that should be restricted.

So when was the last time you really enjoyed yourself?

Not the last time that you went out necessarily or the last time that you went to a party, but the last time that you really enjoyed yourself.

What constitutes fun for each of us will be different.

The times when I laugh so hard that I can’t breathe are generally when I’m out with my friend Di.

There’s always something that happens to set us off which then sets the tone for the evening!

There are two video clips that I love which make me curl up with laughter. You may sit poker-faced and wonder why I find them so funny!

The first is this clip with Lee Mack.

........I can’t find a link to the other one. It was Cheggers on a talent show with Monty The Talentless Juggler. If anyone can find the link I’d love to see it again!

It's his reaction to the juggler that is soooo good to watch!

The great thing about fun is that it’s personal to us as individuals.

There will be reasons why we find particular things funny.

No need to analyse it as it’s such a great thing but think about what it is that tickles you.

What is it that rings your bell?

Think about this over the next few days and every time you remember a time when you really enjoyed yourself, note down when it was, what you were doing, and who you were with.

Take this list.

Take out your diary.

Get in touch with these people.

Book in some fun time with them!!!

Have fun!

I do hope that doing this will lighten your life and make every day a happier one!

I’m always here to help if you need it, but otherwise have a great time and I look forward to hearing what you get up to!

Look here .......  live the life that you want!
