Happiness is being 'YOU'
Who is the real you?
Do you know the real you?
You may have spent so many years being this other person that you're not sure who you really are.
Why did I never pursue my dream to be a dancer / accountant / artist / solicitor?
Think about that.
What was the reason?
Fear? Laziness? Or did it not occur to you to take it seriously?
It's important to live the life that you want.
If this feels out of your reach, it isn't.
You can do whatever you want to do.
Step 1: Think about what you want to do / be. Work-wise, socially, spiritually, anything.
Step 2: Think about why you haven't done it up to now.
Step 3: Grab that reason and dissect it. Really look at what it means. Uncover what's behind it and holding you back.
If this is too big a step for you to do alone, do get in touch for a chat.
Otherwise, I wish you all the best with whatever you discover and get rid of!
Look forward to speaking soon!
Hello I’m Jessica Hylands Confidence Coach.
Specialising in confidence because I believe that our level of self-confidence determines so much that happens to us in life.
How you feel about yourself will determine what you think and what you feel, In turn this will determine what you do and say which translates into the results that you achieve. And this is across every area of your life. Your work, your relationships, your ability to have fun and be happy.
All of this boils down to how you feel about yourself. And it’s really important that we live true to ourselves.
What does that mean ‘living true to yourself’?
Really it means living the life that suits your inner being.
Not living true to yourself might be doing a job that isn’t really suited to you. Or maybe having friends that don’t suit you. You may be out with the party crowd all the time when you’d really rather be at home playing scrabble.
You feel that the latter doesn’t make for a very exciting person and doesn’t reflect what we ‘should’ be aiming for. So you’re out on the razz all the time but it’s not really connecting with your soul.
How’s not living true to yourself manifesting itself in your life?
Maybe you’re doing something for a living that your parents thought would be a good idea.
But that was 10, 20 30 years ago. And you’re still doing it and your still not enjoying it. You’re just not connecting with it.
There can be a lot of things that we’re doing out of sync with ourselves; even relationship-wise. Everything we do can be a choice or we can have fallen into it. Years later we’re still doing it even though it doesn’t suit us.
Living that way, not true to ourselves, is really hard work.
It drains you of energy, of happiness, you’re feeling tired all the time, on edge emotionally. ‘Is this what life’s all about?’ You’re feeling that, because you’re not fulfilling your true needs.
Now all of this I believe boils down to how we feel about ourselves and our level of confidence. When we’re truly confident, if we’re in a situation that we don’t like, we’ll change it.
If you believed in yourself and had confidence in your decisions, you’d make the changes. I don’t want to be a solicitor anymore, I want to be a gardener. You’d make that change.
So it is important to live true to yourself. If you recognise that something you’re doing, the way you’re acting, the people you’re mixing with, isn’t in alignment with yourself true self, do give it some thought.
It really is important. It’s a fundamental factor to how happy we are.
I wish you all the best in making any changes that you need to in order to be happy. If you need any help then as ever, do get in touch.
Here’s to a happier life!
