Hello I’m Jessica Hylands Confidence Coach, talking about decision making.
Now the timing of making a decision can be critical.
By that I mean, let’s say you make a decision on day one.
On that particular day you’re feeling absolutely dreadful. You’ve had a horrible week, you’ve got horrible people around you. You’re really not enjoying anything and this opportunity is presented to you.
On that day you’ll say “I haven’t got time for it. I don’t want it. I wouldn’t be any good at it anyway.”
Then day two, you’re feeling absolutely fantastic, you’ve got some lovely people around you, you’ve just booked a holiday, you’re in a really good mood, full of the joys of spring, and this opportunity is presented to you.
“Yeah that sounds great! I’d love to do it! I bet I’d be really good at it. I can’t wait to get started!”.
So in those two scenarios with the decision whether to take this opportunity or not, you’ve got the same person, ie you, that’s involved in both situations. The opportunity is the same. The only difference is your mood. How you’re feeling.
So be mindful of the whole situation when you’re going to make a decision, and not just the decision itself.
How you’re feeling can positively or negatively affect that decision.
So I hope that helps.
Hope to speak to you soon.
Bye for now!
