Does it matter? Really?
Surely you can fake it...
Yes you can fake it but where does that take you?
Does being confident mean that you're the first one on the dance floor?
Does it mean that you can ask someone out on a date without much fear?
There are lots of ways that we can define confidence but real, true confidence is in how you feel about yourself.
If you don't love yourself and feel good about who you are, then you can pretend to be confident as much as you like but it won't help you to feel any better.
I hope that you gain some insight through this video into how confident you really are.

Hello, I’m Jessica Hylands Confidence Coach.
And confidence really is key.
To demonstrate how your level of self-confidence might affect your day to day life, I’ll tell you a little story about something that happened to me recently.
I went along to a presentation by David Green who’s a really good headshot photographer – and don’t judge him by my headshots by the way as I haven’t had time to go to him to get them done yet – but he was talking about this website where you put your headshot up and people judge you on how they perceive you to be. This is real people judging you and voting on your photo.
Now in terms of confidence I scored very high so that was good. I scored very high on competence which again is very good. There were lots of other categories and another one was attractiveness. I scored really low on that.
And the reason I’m sharing this with you is because, for a lot of people, that would have floored them.
But for me, I genuinely thought ‘That would make a good video’. That was all I thought.
The reason it didn’t bother me is because I’ve got a core of self-belief, self-respect, self –acceptance and all those lovely self-things. This is how I feel about myself. And how I feel about myself determines how happy I am.
What other people think of me isn’t going to change what I think of me and therefor what they think of me can’t change my level of happiness.
If you were in that same position, how do think you would have reacted? Would you have laughed it off or would it have bothered you? Made you feel negative in some shape or form?
If it would have had a negative effect on you, think about why it is that their opinion is more important than yours.
Wouldn’t you like to have this inner resilience that I have?
I think this does show that our level of self-confidence is directly related to our happiness in life.
Have a think about it and if it would have made you feel bad, recognise that it is your self-confidence and self-esteem that needs lifting in order to give you this inner resilience that I spoke about.
Don’t get me wrong, a few years ago it wouldn’t knocked me for six before I’d built up this core that I have now.
