How can I be happy?
You may be thinking:
I have a dream job, a lovely partner, nice car
....why don’t I feel happy?
It’s not always easy for us to see why we are feeling this way.
It’s human nature to fill a void and if we’re unhappy but don’t know why, we’ll create a reason for it.
This will usually be something that we spend most of our time and energy on, so we very often tend to blame our work or our partners.
If we changed jobs and got rid of the partner, we might feel very disappointed to find that we still feel the same.
Don’t always assume what would appear to be the obvious, because sometimes it isn’t.
You may need to look deeper.
Maybe your unhappiness isn’t down to a specific issue that you are aware of, but is just a general discontentment.
Whilst there will usually be an underlying cause for this, and ultimately this is what you want to get sorted, a quick and easy way to feel happy is to act happy!
Decide to be happy!
Be nice to everyone; smile, be kind, and give compliments. You will make them feel good and in turn will make yourself feel good.
